Ultrasound and X-rays permit a more complete assessment of the inside of your pet. Where X-rays provide us with information about size and locations of internal organs, ultrasound allows us to visualize the internal architecture of the individual organs. This technology allows us to “look without cutting” and increases the margin of safety when acquiring samples from the abdominal or thoracic cavities. Moreover, Ultrasound is the diagnostic modality of choice for early pregnancy and allows us to confirm the viability (heartbeats) of the puppies or kittens.
